Every year in February the KQDC holds a Hunter/Volunteer Appreciation banquet.  Hunters bringing deer to check stations get tickets: they are contacted in January and invited to the banquet and given directions.  Persons volunteering for any of the "Get Involved" activities are also invited.

The banquet is held at a local restaurant beginning at 5pm.  There is a "cocktail" hour, then attendees go through a buffet line.  During dinner an expert on deer gives an interesting presentation: this presentation is followed by an annual update on the KQDC deer herd and progress towards goals.  After the dinner, a raffle is conducted for ticket holders.  Items raffled off at past banquets have included muzzleloaders, hunting knives, deer calls, books on deer, baseball caps, other hunting equipment, and weekend getaways at local resorts.  Hunters are given a questionnaire that provides information on their satisfaction, general feelings about deer management, and other subjects.  The results of the questionnaire are posted in the section on Hunter Satisfaction.

The guest speaker at the 2009 Hunter Appreciation Banquet was Neil Dougherty, a local expert on deer hunting and habitat manipulation, including food plots.

The 2010 Hunter Appreciation Banquet will be at a date and place TBA in 2011, usually Super Bowl Saturday night.
