The deer herd and habitat on the Kinzua Quality Area are carefully monitored every year: in spring (April) deer abundance and impact are evaluated; in late summer sex and age ratios of the pre-harvest herd, as well as counts of other wildlife such as coyotes, bears, bobcats, turkey, and grouse, are evaluated from roadside counts; and during the rifle season three check stations operate on the Kinzua Quality Area for collection of information on harvested deer and on hunters.
Every year an annual report is issued in early February for the previous year.

Each of the three chunks of data (spring density and impact, summer sex and age ratios, and fall check station) is written up separately as it is collected and reported (density and impact in summer; sex and age rations in fall; and check station in winter). These interim reports may be obtained by clicking on density and impact (for 2010 available by July 19, 2010), or sex and age ratios (for 2010 available December 1, 2010) or check station (for 2010 available February 1, 2011). For 2009, all sections are reported in the annual report.
A much condensed version of all the data is presented at the annual hunter appreciation banquet, if you wish to read a copy of that, click on banquet presentation.
